OGL supported the New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness (OHSP) with the design, development, conduct and evaluation of a mall security active shooter workshop. The underlying scenario for this exercise was an unidentified man entering the Great Jersey Mall on a Tuesday afternoon who begins to open fire on shoppers.
Exercise participants included representatives from mall security and management organizations from various New Jersey malls, as well as local law enforcement, State agencies, and a county prosecutor.
OGL followed the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) guidance in the design, development and conduct of this exercise. Planning meetings supported by OGL included:
· Concept & Objectives Meeting
· Initial Planning Meeting
· Final Planning Meeting
· After Action Meeting/Improvement Planning Meeting
For exercise conduct, OGL provided the lead facilitator, lead evaluator, and exercise logistics support.
